Board of Directors

Boston Advisors is governed by a board that comprises professionals from a broad array of disciplines within the investment management industry and from its highest levels. The board oversees the interests of our shareholders and clients, while adding guidance and wisdom to the management of the company.

Allan Bufferd

Allan Bufferd recently retired as treasurer of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he oversaw the university's investment management of assets, and formulation and implementation of investment policy for endowment, retirement fund and other assets, which totaled more than $12 billion. He serves as chairman of the board of directors of the Controlled Risk Insurance Company and the Risk Management Foundation, Inc., and chairman of the board of directors of The Coop, a retail cooperative serving the Harvard and MIT communities. Dr. Bufferd also is a member of various advisory boards of diverse investment funds, and serves as a director of several financial services organizations, healthcare centers, and universities. Dr. Bufferd holds a ScD from MIT and a JD from Suffolk University.


Georgeanne Nicozisin

Georgeanne Nicozisin is the founder of Blue Morph Consulting, a firm specializing in facilitating organizational change and transformation for corporate and not-for-profit clients. Prior to forming Blue Morph, she was the director of client service and marketing at PanAgora Asset Management in Boston, and a member of the firm's management committee. She began her career in relationship management at The Boston Company, working with Fortune 500 institutional clients. Ms. Nicozisin has a BA in history from Northwestern University and has completed coursework in investment management at The Wharton School. She also has completed extensive training in facilitation and organizational development. Ms. Nicozisin is a board member of the SPARKLERS Foundation, a program that brings life coaching tools and skills to teenagers.


Gabrielle F. Parish

In January, 2003 Gabrielle founded the GF Parish Group, an executive search firm focusing exclusively on the asset management business. She had previously established the Minneapolis office for the search firm, Warren International, in the spring of 1999. She has executed a wide variety of searches in the investment management area, including numerous team lift outs. This follows an investment management career that began in 1980. Before entering the search industry Gabrielle was a Senior Vice President of American Express Asset Management. During her more than 12 years there she was responsible for institutional sales and client service to corporate plans nationwide, in addition to varied responsibilities with U.S. public funds and institutional investors in Latin America. She helped the firm see its assets under management appreciate tenfold. She also oversaw strategic planning for the asset management group where she focused on expanding global distribution capabilities to institutions and intermediaries. Gabrielle was also responsible for building strategic alliances and merger and acquisition activity. At American Express, she executed her first lift-out of a team of portfolio managers. Previously, Gabrielle was a Vice President of Marketing in the Options Department of what was then called Salomon Smith Barney. In that role, she developed relationships across the U.S. with retail financial consultants to assist them in the development of their individual practices; she conducted client and broker seminars and provided daily investment ideas. Before joining Salomon Smith Barney she was an options trader for Paine Webber. Gabrielle holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB from Dartmouth College.
